The Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking interested and qualified candidates for the position described below. A complete, detailed job description for this position is available in the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office Human Resource office.
Position Title: Kennel Tech – Part Time
Starting: $14.00 per hour (Additional compensation for previous years’ experience)
Description of Position:
Kennel Technicians are responsible for the day-to-day care of in-house animals as well as maintaining cleanliness. This includes feeding, watering, cleaning, walking, and monitoring the well-being of dogs, cats and other animals. Kennel Technicians must have sufficient physical strength, mobility and stamina to lift and/or move heavy pets and objects, the dexterity and confidence to administer medications, and the ability to monitor pets for signs of distress or disease. It is essential that they have the ability and willingness to learn and the desire to provide gentle, compassionate care for all animals. In addition, the kennel staff is also responsible for the cleanliness of the kennel. Cannot be allergic to animals.
Qualifications:
*Be at least 18 years of age *Have a Valid Driver’s License *Not have been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor involving perjury or false statement *Never received a dishonorable discharge from any of the Armed Forces of the United States *Be of good moral character *Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
